Zooms Are Back - and - Planning vs Preparation with Some Tools to Help This Fall

Total Reading Time: 6 minutes
Happy Monday! Welcome to September 1st and Recruiting Madness. At least recruiting madness 2.0 - which comes after Transfer Madness. Today we’ll talk about our exciting upcoming Zoom schedule that’s something you won’t want to miss - along with the distinction between Planning & Preparation and some tools to help you this Fall.
So Let’s Go!
Zooms Are Back!!
As you might know, I held Pitching Zooms throughout last season to help create a stronger community among us and share ideas, problems and solutions.
We took a zoom-break during the summer - but now they’re back! And, I’m excited to announce they’ll be back in a whole new way:
3 GREAT Speakers Lined Up - Our Zooms will kick off with a series of 3 Incredible speakers (our scheduled 2025 Pitching Summit speakers) giving their presentations on 3 upcoming Mondays.
Brand New Newsletter Tiers - Because our newsletter is growing so much I’ve created 2 brand new newsletter tiers:
One is FREE and will stay free. This tier gives you access to every issue of the Curveball Chronicles, as well as all back issues.
The second tier is our new Premium Zoom Membership Tier which will not only include the weekly newsletter, but will also give you access to all of our Live Zooms, Recordings of all of our Zooms as well as access to Special Content and Special Zoom. This Tier is only $59 a year - and we’re starting it off with a BANG 💥💥

My goal is to continue to bring you timely articles, quotes and information through my newsletter, as well as deliver special content monthly in the form of zooms & special emails.
If you want to jump on these upcoming zooms I’d love to have you - simply signup on the link below and you’ll be ready to go! Links will be sent out to all Zoom Level Members.

Planning vs Preparation with Some Tools to Help This Fall
NY Times best selling author, Sahil Bloom, recently posted something that made all kinds of sense to me. He said that “Preparation always beats Planning”. As someone who has always believed in the importance of planning, especially as it pertains to achieving your pitching staff capabilities - this made me stop.
He went on to say that “Planning is based on the expectation of order, and Preparation is based on the expectation of chaos”. That if you plan for order you’ll be destroyed by chaos, but if you prepare for chaos you’ll thrive in any condition.
“If you Plan for Order You’ll Be Destroyed by Chaos. But If You Prepare for Chaos You’ll Thrive in Any Condition!”
- Sahil Bloom
While this distinction between planning and preparation might not seem like a big deal, what makes it HUGE to me is that the game environment is all about chaos. Our opponents show up to create chaos for us, so the better our pitchers can handle it, the more successful they’ll be.
Of course this means you’ll need to plan out your Fall as well as your Spring, but make sure that your plans involve a very unpredictable and chaotic environment for your pitchers.
To help with your preparations I’m including some forms I used to help me start with the total amount of time I was looking at that season, and then the tools to zoom down into each individual week, and then each specific day.
Hopefully these will help you! Or get your brin going to create your own forms. If you want the Word version so you can modify them for your situation - just text or email me, I’m happy to send them to you:
