Since I’m only a week out from having a total knee replacement I’m too out-of-it to write an entire newsletter, so here’s a couple thoughts that stuck with me this week,

Know a friend who could join our community of curious pitching coaches?

A Couple Thoughts That Stuck With Me This Week

After having a complete knee replacement last Monday, I’ve spent the past week in a version of squeeling pain or midicated stuper…not really the headspace for a thoughtful newsletter.

But I did have a few things that stuck with me:

  1. The Power of Breathing - During moments of my worst pain this week, the one advice I was given over and over was “breathe.” It seemed inadequate advice compared to the sitution, but every single time I did it, really did it, it worked. I was told to breathe like you’re blowing out a birthday cake. Have your pitchers try it when they’re freaked out, and try it yourself.

  2. The Power of Compounding - It was never one pill I took that fought back the pain, but the compounded power of keeping the does high and the pain at-bay. Compounding is an increibly underrated super power. Consider this - 1 penny isn’t much. In fact most people won’t bend over to pick it up. But if you double 1 cent every day for 30 days do you know what you get? Over 5 Million Dollars!!! Let the power of compounding help you in all aspects of your life.

We’re still having our Pitching Zoom this morning - I hope you’ll join us!!
